Clinics and other Academic Settings

David is an avid proponent of an education rich in the arts. He currently serves as the Fine Arts Department Chair at St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Austin, Texas, offering oversight of a dynamic faculty and the film, theatre, yearbook, visual art, and music programs. Having taught on middle school, high school, and college faculties, David embraces the concept of 'life-long learning' and has benefited from working with or alongside renown educators and some of the greatest musicians in the world. College and secondary courses he has taught include: Applied Saxophone (classical and jazz), Jazz Composition, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, Music Technology, Jazz Improvisation, Concert Band, Music Appreciation, American Popular Music, and AP Music Theory.

In the central Texas area, David has directed region honors ensembles for TMEA, composed audition music for the region and all state jazz bands, and served in a multitude of other settings from adjudicator to clinician and guest artist. He is thrilled to meet new directors and to work with ensembles of all levels.
